BigCommerce B2B Quoting and Integration with TackQuote
A practical guide to connecting your product catalog with wholesale quotes and BigCommerce checkout

A practical guide to connecting your product catalog with wholesale quotes and BigCommerce checkout
Sales consultant and project buyer reviewing lighting samples with TackQuote and BigCommerce branding.
A practical wholesale example
Consider an illustrative lighting supplier selling through BigCommerce. A commercial buyer needs wall lights in two finishes for a refurbishment project. The buyer wants a volume price and needs to know whether the selected products can meet the project schedule.
The salesperson starts with the imported catalog and selects the appropriate products and variants. Before sending the quote, they check the requested quantities, availability and delivery requirements. They then prepare the agreed pricing in TackQuote and give the buyer a clear offer to review.
Once the quote is accepted and the relevant checkout route is configured, the integration can create a BigCommerce cart and return its checkout link. The buyer continues there rather than having to assemble the same product selection again.
The salesperson still checks the final outcome. Did the cart contain the right finish? Did the quoted line prices arrive correctly? Were tax, shipping and payment handled as expected? Has an order actually been placed?
This example is a suggested pilot scenario, not a customer case study. Its value is that your team can test it with its own catalog and see where work becomes easier or where another configuration step is needed.
Make the enquiry easier for the buyer to complete
A connected quotation process works best when the initial request contains enough information to answer it. Before changing your entire storefront, review the questions buyers currently send to your sales team.
For a simple wholesale request, ask for the product or SKU, variant, quantity, company contact and delivery destination. Add a requested delivery date when timing affects the offer. For project sales, include room for a short description of the requirement.
Keep the first step proportionate. A buyer asking about one bulk purchase should not have to complete a procurement questionnaire designed for a long-term supply agreement. Collect what your salesperson needs to respond, then ask for additional details during qualification.
Explain what happens after submission. Tell the buyer who will respond and what information the quote will cover. Only state a response deadline your team can consistently meet.
This is a process recommendation for your enquiry experience. The BigCommerce connector alone does not establish that every storefront RFQ form or theme widget is installed and configured. Include that part of the journey in your demo if it is central to your sales process.
Book a workflow demo and bring one typical enquiry. Ask to see how it becomes a quote and then a checkout link.
Set up the integration around a real order
Connect the correct store
Use the BigCommerce connection available in TackQuote's Integrations area and have the appropriate store administrator complete authorization. Confirm the store identity and required access before importing data.
Your configuration may use OAuth or supported API credentials. Treat successful authentication as the beginning of setup: it does not prove that catalog import, checkout and order updates all work for your store.
Check a representative catalog sample
Choose a standard product, a product with variants, an item with a sale price and a product carrying custom fields. Compare the imported records with BigCommerce. Include an unavailable or low-stock item so your team understands how availability appears.
For a larger catalog, inspect the sync result for errors or an incomplete run. The service reports truncation when processing limits stop a pull early. A successful connection is not evidence that every product has been imported.
Configure the checkout route
Connecting a store alone does not activate every quote-to-checkout action. The published setup describes an active Order Sync Rule targeting the connection, or a buyer checkout route after enabling Use for checkout. Confirm which route your team intends to use in the BigCommerce integration guide.
Choose one clear route for the pilot and test it before expanding your automation. Make sure the people sending quotes know which action creates the cart and how the buyer receives the checkout link.
Complete the buyer journey
Run the test from quote preparation through checkout and order review. Check products, variants, quantities, quoted line prices, currency, customer identification, shipping, tax and available payment options.
The line-item amount sent by TackQuote should not be treated as a guarantee of the final checkout total. Store settings and checkout calculations can affect what the buyer sees. Resolve differences before sending live buyers through the process.
Give someone ownership of exceptions
Decide who checks failed syncs, unavailable products and missing checkout links. Give sales and operations a shared way to distinguish an accepted quote from a cart awaiting checkout and an actual order.
A small number of clearly owned checks will make the pilot easier to operate and evaluate.
Questions buyers and sales teams often ask
Does accepting a quote automatically place a BigCommerce order
The adapter reviewed creates a checkout cart and returns a URL. Your buyer still needs to complete the checkout journey. Do not use quote acceptance alone as confirmation of a placed or paid order.
Can we keep negotiated prices in BigCommerce price lists
The current catalog sync does not import those price lists. Define the quote pricing in TackQuote and test the resulting cart prices. If price-list parity is essential, discuss that requirement before rollout.
Will every customer account and pricing tier stay synchronized
Do not assume full customer or tier synchronization. Customer lookup or creation during checkout is a narrower capability. Validate your company account and pricing requirements separately.
Can one workspace support our multi-storefront setup
The published integration page currently describes one BigCommerce store per TackQuote workspace and places multi-storefront support on the roadmap. Have the team review your store and channel arrangement before committing to a rollout.
What happens if an accepted quote changes later
The published guide says cancelling a quote does not automatically cancel an existing BigCommerce cart. Establish a process for revised or withdrawn offers so the buyer knows which quote and checkout link to use.
Measure progress beyond the first registration
For your own evaluation, track the time from a complete enquiry to a sent quote, the proportion of quotes accepted and the proportion of accepted quotes that reach completed checkout. Review these alongside pricing corrections and manual re-entry work.
Start with a baseline from your existing process. Compare similar enquiries during the pilot and record why a buyer did not proceed. A delay caused by unavailable stock needs a different response from a confusing checkout handoff.
The goal is to learn whether the workflow helps your team move suitable buyers forward. No integration can guarantee sales growth; the offer, stock availability, pricing and follow-up still matter.
Try your next BigCommerce wholesale quote in TackQuote
You do not need to begin with your most complicated account. Choose one representative request, a small set of products and a salesperson who understands the existing process.
Create your TackQuote account and use that request to evaluate the workflow from catalog selection to checkout. Check the current plans and pricing for the features your team needs.
If you have complex variants, buyer-specific pricing or several storefronts, book a BigCommerce integration demo first. Bring a sample quote, your store details and the steps your team currently repeats. Ask to see those exact steps demonstrated.
A useful first milestone is simple: one accurate quote, one clear checkout route and an order your team can verify.
