Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TackQuote B2B quoting, CPQ rules, credit approvals, buyer portal collaboration, and ERP/CRM integrations.

General & Getting Started

What is TackQuote and who is it designed for?

TackQuote is a unified B2B Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ), Buyer Portal, and Sales Automation platform built specifically for manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and B2B sales teams. It replaces slow email/spreadsheet workflows with interactive web quotes, automated margin protection, contract price books, and instant order sync.

How fast can our sales team start sending quotes?

Unlike legacy enterprise CPQ software that requires months of technical implementation, TackQuote can be configured in under 24 hours. You can import product catalogs, set rep margin floors, connect your CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive), and issue your first quote on day one.

Is there a free trial available?

Yes. TackQuote offers a 14-day full-featured free trial with no credit card required. You can test all features—including CPQ bundle rules, buyer portal access, e-signatures, and integrations—during the trial period.

Quoting, CPQ & Margin Rules

How do CPQ bundle constraints and BOM rules work?

TackQuote includes a visual CPQ bundle builder where base SKUs are linked with required, recommended, and optional sub-components. You can define constraint rules (e.g. "Option A requires Option B" or "Option X excludes Option Y") to guarantee reps never quote invalid product combinations.

Can we prevent sales reps from offering unapproved discounts?

Yes. TackQuote enforces target margin floors and rep discount ceilings per product category or account tier. If a sales rep enters a price below your margin floor, the quote automatically locks and routes to executive approvers for sign-off.

How are quantity break volume tiers handled?

TackQuote automatically applies tiered volume discount schedules (e.g., 100 units at $10 vs 500 units at $8). The interactive Buyer Portal highlights upcoming price breaks to buyers, encouraging larger order quantities.

How do per-account contract price books work?

You can assign custom price books, fixed contract matrices, or percentage adjustments directly to specific customer accounts. When a rep creates a quote for that account, the correct contract rates auto-populate instantly.

Payments, Net Terms & Credit

Which payment gateways are supported for online quote checkout?

TackQuote supports Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Authorize.net, Square, and Adyen. All payment gateways support hosted checkout and mandatory webhook signature verification for instant settlement.

How do instant Net Terms and B2B credit approvals work?

TackQuote integrates with B2B credit underwriters (CreditKey, Balance, TreviPay). Buyers can apply for Net-30 or Net-60 terms directly on the quote checkout page and receive instant real-time approval, while TackQuote guarantees payout to the seller.

Can we collect upfront deposits on long lead-time orders?

Yes. You can configure staged deposit schedules (e.g., 50% deposit required upon signature, 50% balance on Net-30 post-delivery). Deposit payments can be collected via card, ACH, or wire transfer during quote acceptance.

Buyer Portal & E-Signature

What is the Buyer Portal experience?

When reps send a quote, buyers receive a secure link (`/p/[token]`) to an interactive digital proposal. Buyers can view line-item details, toggle optional accessories, request quantity adjustments, communicate via line-item comments, and sign electronically.

Are TackQuote e-signatures legally binding?

Yes. Every e-signature executed in the TackQuote Buyer Portal complies with ESIGN and eIDAS standards. Each signature captures signer IP address, timestamp, email authentication, and cryptographic document hashes into an immutable audit trail certificate.

Can buyers request custom line-item negotiations directly on the quote?

Yes. Buyers can adjust quantities or request custom volume rates on specific line items inside their portal. Line adjustments trigger automated margin guardrail checks—if within rep limits, the quote updates instantly with revised pricing.

Integrations & Sync Engine

Which CRMs and ERPs integrate natively with TackQuote?

TackQuote connects natively with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, NetSuite, SAP B1, Xero, QuickBooks Online, FreshBooks, Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and WooCommerce.

How does the TackQuote Sync Orchestration Engine prevent data overwrites?

Instead of basic point-to-point sync, TackQuote lets you define authoritative sources of truth per data domain (ERP for prices, storefront for stock, CRM for deals). Accepted quotes trigger ordered multi-hop sync chains with conflict resolution.

Can we build custom integrations using Webhooks and REST APIs?

Yes. Every quote event (created, sent, viewed, negotiated, signed, converted) emits real-time webhooks with HMAC signatures. Our full REST API includes OpenAPI specifications for custom internal systems.

Security & Compliance

Is TackQuote multi-tenant and secure?

Yes. TackQuote utilizes PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS) and isolated tenant scoping to guarantee multi-tenant data privacy. All credentials and API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.

Are internal cost prices or margin percentages ever leaked to buyers?

No. Buyer Portal DTOs strictly sanitize internal data fields (cost prices, margin percentages, internal rep notes, supplier details) before any payload reaches the client application.

Have a specific question about your quoting workflow?

Our B2B sales automation team can walk you through custom catalog rules, ERP connections, and buyer portal setups.
