Overview

EasyPost + TackQuote

EasyPost is a rate and label aggregator: one connection fronts USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and around a hundred other carriers, so TackQuote can quote real shipping costs and buy labels without a client per carrier. TackQuote asks EasyPost for rates using your own account, buys labels on your instruction, and receives tracking updates through a webhook whose signature is verified on every delivery — an unsigned webhook would let anyone change what you believe about a parcel. Sellers who already hold negotiated carrier contracts can attach those accounts so EasyPost returns their contracted pricing rather than retail rates.

Connect an EasyPost account, optionally attach your own carrier accounts, then request rates and buy labels from TackQuote.

Where to connect. Setup happens in the seller portal — most connectors under Integrations, the rest on the Settings page named in the setup steps below.

Before you start

What you'll need

  • Active EasyPost account with an API key
  • A shipping origin address
  • Optional: your own carrier accounts for contracted rates

Setup

How to connect EasyPost

  1. Connect EasyPost

Enter your EasyPost API key in TackQuote Settings → Shipping Carriers. Your key is stored encrypted and never shown back to you in full.
  2. Attach carrier accounts (optional)

Add your own negotiated carrier accounts so rates reflect your contracted pricing. Without this, EasyPost returns its own retail rates.
  3. Rate, label, track

Request rates for a shipment, buy a label against the rate you choose, and receive tracking updates by verified webhook.

Capabilities

What you get

Multi-Carrier Rates

One connection returns rates across USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and roughly a hundred more, so you compare services without integrating each carrier separately.

Label Purchase

Buy a label against a chosen rate and get the tracking code back. Purchases are explicit actions, never automatic, because buying a label spends real money.

Signature-Verified Tracking

Tracking updates arrive by webhook and every delivery has its HMAC signature verified before it is trusted. Unsigned or wrongly signed deliveries are rejected.

Your Negotiated Rates

Attach your own UPS, DHL or USPS accounts to EasyPost and your contracted pricing is what comes back, instead of EasyPost retail rates.

FAQ

EasyPost questions

Does EasyPost replace my carrier accounts?

It can work either way. Without your own carrier accounts you ship on EasyPost's rates; attach your accounts and your negotiated pricing applies. Note that EasyPost charges its own per-label fee on top of carrier cost, so sellers with strong direct contracts may prefer connecting those carriers directly.

Are shipping costs added to quote totals automatically?

Not yet. Rates and labels are available, but wiring a live rate into the quote total is not implemented — so a quote will not silently change price because a carrier changed a rate.

Can TackQuote void or refund a label?

No. Label void and refund are deliberately not implemented, because a refund path that half-works is worse than none — reconcile refunds in EasyPost directly.
