Overview

Zendesk + TackQuote

Support history is context a rep needs before they negotiate. TackQuote's Zendesk integration searches real tickets by requester email through Support REST API v2, and lets you link one to a quote after verifying it exists. The ticket id, subject, and status are stored with the quote and refreshed from Zendesk each time the quote is read — and if Zendesk is unreachable, TackQuote shows the last known snapshot flagged as stale rather than failing the page. Deliberately read-only: nothing in TackQuote creates or edits a Zendesk ticket, so the connector never needs write permission on your helpdesk.

TackQuote calls the Zendesk Support REST API v2 with your subdomain and credentials. Reads happen on demand; the ticket link is stored with the quote.

Where to connect. Setup happens in the seller portal — most connectors under Integrations, the rest on the Settings page named in the setup steps below.

Before you start

What you'll need

  • Zendesk Support account
  • Your Zendesk subdomain
  • An OAuth access token, or an agent email plus API token
  • TackQuote Starter plan or above

Setup

How to connect Zendesk

  1. Get a Zendesk credential

Create an OAuth access token, or take an agent email plus an API token from Zendesk Admin → Apps and integrations → APIs. Note your Zendesk subdomain.
  2. Connect in TackQuote

Enter the subdomain and credential in TackQuote Settings → Integrations → Zendesk. TackQuote makes a live authenticated call before reporting connected.
  3. Search from a quote

Open a quote and search Zendesk by the buyer's email. You get the buyer's tickets with subject, status, priority, and created date.
  4. Link what matters

Link the relevant ticket to the quote. From then on the quote shows that ticket's live status, with a deep link into Zendesk.

Capabilities

What you get

Ticket Search By Buyer Email

Search Zendesk for tickets requested by a buyer's email address, newest first, straight from the quote — so a rep sees the open support picture before they concede on price.

Link A Ticket To The Quote

Attach a ticket after verifying it exists in Zendesk. The id, subject, and status are stored on the quote, and unlinking clears them again.

Live Status, Cached Fallback

The linked ticket refreshes from Zendesk on read. If Zendesk is unreachable, the cached subject and status are returned marked stale instead of erroring.

OAuth Or API Token

Connect with a modern OAuth bearer token or a legacy agent-email-plus-API-token pair. Both work against Support REST API v2.

FAQ

Zendesk questions

Does TackQuote create Zendesk tickets?

No. This connector reads: it searches tickets by requester email and links an existing ticket to a quote. Nothing in TackQuote creates or edits a Zendesk ticket.

What do I need to connect Zendesk?

Your Zendesk subdomain plus either an OAuth access token or an agent email and API token. Both auth styles are supported against Support REST API v2.

What happens if Zendesk is down when someone opens the quote?

The quote still renders. TackQuote falls back to the cached ticket subject and status and marks it stale, so nobody mistakes it for live data.
