Checkouts are created with automatic capture enabled, because a quote has no shipment step to trigger a later capture — and settlement is confirmed by reading the captured amount back from Klarna Order Management, not by trusting the status callback.

Setup Guide
4 steps to connect Klarna
TackQuote connects to Klarna with API credentials plus your account region. The callback URL is registered automatically at checkout, so there is nothing to paste into Klarna.
Get Klarna API credentials
In the Klarna Merchant Portal go to Settings → Klarna API credentials and generate an API username and password.
Note your account region
Klarna serves Europe, North America and Oceania from separate hosts, and credentials only work against their own region. TackQuote asks for this because it cannot be detected from the key.
Connect in TackQuote
Enter the username, password, region and a long random verification token in Settings → Payments → Klarna.
Go live
The buyer starting checkout is what routes a quote to Klarna, and only when no higher-priority gateway (Stripe, Authorize.net, Square, Adyen, PayPal, Razorpay, Mollie) is connected. Captured orders convert the quote once the amount and currency match.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Klarna
Why does TackQuote ask for my Klarna region?
Klarna issues credentials against one region and they return an authentication error against another. Nothing in the key identifies which, so guessing would make Klarna appear to reject a perfectly valid password. Declaring it removes that failure mode.
Klarna does not sign its status callbacks — is that a problem?
It is handled rather than ignored. TackQuote embeds a verification token you generate in the callback URL, which is Klarna’s own documented approach, and then reads nothing from the callback body. The captured amount and currency come from an authenticated read of your Klarna order, so a forged callback cannot settle anything.
