Integration Overview

How TackQuote connects with OpenCart

Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.

TackQuote ships an OpenCart 4 extension that does both directions. It adds a "Request a Quote" button to your product pages that sends each request straight into TackQuote as a draft quote, and it serves the catalog, order-history and order-creation endpoints TackQuote pulls from. OpenCart core exposes no catalog or order JSON feed — its built-in `route=api/*` is a session-based cart/checkout API — so that second half is exactly what the extension exists to provide. A dependable choice for merchants running the open-source OpenCart platform who want structured B2B quoting.

Bi-Directional Sync

Data objects synchronized between systems

Here is exactly how data flows between TackQuote and OpenCart to maintain complete system alignment.

Product Catalog & Variant Sync

Import SKUs, variants, prices, and product descriptions from OpenCart into TackQuote price books.

Real-Time Inventory Levels

Check live OpenCart stock availability before approving high-quantity wholesale quotes.

B2B Sales Order Injection

Convert accepted quotes into fulfilled B2B orders or draft orders inside OpenCart automatically.

Customer Account & Tier Sync

Map buyer accounts and wholesale customer tags between OpenCart and TackQuote CRM contacts.

Capabilities

What's included in the OpenCart connector

Built out-of-the-box for enterprise sales teams, distributors, and manufacturers.

Request a Quote on Product Pages

The TackQuote OpenCart extension adds a quote button to product pages; each submission lands in TackQuote as a draft quote with the buyer and line item already attached.

Catalog & Stock Sync

TackQuote imports OpenCart products, prices and stock on a scheduled cadence, including disabled products so retired items are deactivated rather than left live. Served by the same extension, because OpenCart core has no catalog JSON.

Order Creation on Acceptance

Accepted quotes create real OpenCart orders through the order model OpenCart itself uses, priced from your catalog and landing on your default order status. Unknown or disabled products refuse the whole order rather than shipping a short one. Order creation is not automatic on acceptance: it runs when an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection, or when the buyer checks out against it after you switch on Integrations → Use for checkout.

Your Storefront, Untouched

The extension installs as a normal OpenCart module you place on the product layout — no theme replatform, no checkout changes. The catalog feed stays off until you set a feed token.

Setup Guide

4 steps to connect OpenCart

Install the TackQuote extension once: it captures quote requests and serves the catalog/order feed. Pull runs every two hours with an on-demand refresh.

1

Install the TackQuote extension

Download the public tack.ocmod.zip installer and keep that exact filename — OpenCart takes the extension code from it. The separate tack-opencart-source.zip asset is optional source-only material. In OpenCart admin go to Extensions → Installer, upload tack.ocmod.zip, install it under Extensions → Modules, then add the TackQuote module to your product page layout under Design → Layouts.

2

Paste your TackQuote API key

In OpenCart admin under Extensions → Modules → TackQuote, enter your TackQuote API URL and API key and run Test connection.

3

Connect catalog sync (optional)

In OpenCart admin under Extensions → Modules → TackQuote, set a Catalog / order feed token (any long random string), then enter your store URL and that same token in TackQuote Integrations → OpenCart. It is a different secret from your TackQuote API key; leave it empty and the feed stays switched off.

4

Go live

Buyers request quotes from your product pages, and your team quotes them in TackQuote.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about OpenCart

Is the OpenCart sync instant?

Quote requests from the product-page button reach TackQuote immediately. Catalog and stock updates arrive on a two-hour scheduled pull plus an on-demand refresh, because OpenCart core emits no outbound webhooks.

What do I need to connect TackQuote to OpenCart?

OpenCart 4.0.x or 4.1.x, the TackQuote extension installed with your TackQuote API key, and HTTPS access to your store. Scheduled catalog and order pull additionally needs a feed token set in the extension — the extension serves that feed itself, because OpenCart core exposes none. OpenCart 3.x is not supported. TackQuote Starter plan or above is required.

Do I need an OpenCart API user?

No. OpenCart's built-in API user (System → Users → API) drives a session-based cart and checkout API, not a catalog feed, so TackQuote does not use it. The extension authenticates with your TackQuote API key instead.
