Connector Technical Specs
Integration Overview
How TackQuote connects with Zen Cart
Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.
TackQuote brings structured B2B quoting to Zen Cart, the long-established open-source cart. The TackQuote module does both directions: it adds a "Request a Quote" button to product pages that sends each request into TackQuote as a draft quote, and it ships a small connector that serves the catalog, order-history and order-creation endpoints TackQuote pulls from. Zen Cart has no core REST API and no outbound webhooks, so that connector is exactly what the module exists to provide. Built for established Zen Cart merchants who want a professional quote-to-order workflow without replatforming.
Bi-Directional Sync

Capabilities
What's included in the Zen Cart connector
Built out-of-the-box for enterprise sales teams, distributors, and manufacturers.
Request a Quote on Product Pages
The TackQuote Zen Cart module adds a quote button to the product info page; submissions arrive in TackQuote as draft quotes with the buyer and line item attached.
Catalog Sync
TackQuote reads your Zen Cart products and pricing on a scheduled cadence, including disabled products so retired items are deactivated rather than left live. Served by the connector that ships with the module, because Zen Cart ships no REST API.
Order Creation on Acceptance
Accepted quotes create real Zen Cart orders, keeping the negotiated unit price as the final price on the line so the discount stays visible in your admin. Unknown or disabled products refuse the whole order rather than shipping a short one. Order creation is not automatic on acceptance: it runs when an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection, or when the buyer checks out against it after you switch on Integrations → Use for checkout.
Classic Zen Cart Install
Files you copy into your store plus one SQL settings patch and one template edit — no theme replatform, no checkout changes. The connector stays off until you set its token.
Setup Guide
4 steps to connect Zen Cart
Install the TackQuote Zen Cart module once: it captures quote requests and serves the catalog/order connector. Pull runs every two hours with an on-demand refresh.
Install the TackQuote module
Copy the TackQuote files into your store — including the tack-connector folder and its hidden .htaccess — run the settings SQL patch, and add the quote button to your product info template. Upgrading from an older TackQuote module? Run upgrade_connector.sql instead of install.sql.
Paste your TackQuote API key
In Zen Cart admin under Configuration ▸ TackQuote, enter your TackQuote API URL and API key.
Connect catalog sync (optional)
In Zen Cart admin under Configuration ▸ TackQuote, set a TackQuote connector token (any long random string), then enter your store URL and that same token in TackQuote Integrations → Zen Cart. It is a different secret from your TackQuote API key; leave it empty and the connector stays switched off.
Start quoting
Buyers request quotes from your product pages, and your team quotes them in TackQuote.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Zen Cart
Why does Zen Cart need a module?
Zen Cart has no built-in REST API or outbound webhooks and no plugin hook on the product info template. The TackQuote module is what puts a quote button on your product pages, and its connector is what lets TackQuote read your catalog and orders at all.
What do I need to set up the Zen Cart integration?
Zen Cart 1.5.7 or later, the TackQuote module installed with your TackQuote API key, and HTTPS access. Scheduled catalog and order pull additionally needs the tack-connector folder from the module in place and a connector token set in Configuration ▸ TackQuote — the module serves that feed itself, because Zen Cart has none. TackQuote Starter plan or above is required.
Will this replatform or modify my Zen Cart storefront?
No. The module adds a button and a modal to the product info page; your theme, checkout, and customer experience are otherwise untouched.
