How TackQuote connects with Anrok

Anrok has two halves, and quoting belongs firmly in one of them. TackQuote calls the ephemeral-transaction endpoint, which computes tax without recording anything — Anrok explicitly does not use ephemeral transactions to file returns or to monitor economic-nexus thresholds. The recording counterpart belongs at invoice finalisation, which is not this code path, because a quote that never converts must not appear in your filing data. Taxability in Anrok is decided by a product external ID that already exists in your account, and that requirement is honoured rather than worked around: when a line has no product ID and no default is configured, TackQuote returns its "no tax provider" marker instead of guessing. Guessing has two outcomes and both are bad — an unknown ID is rejected outright, and an ID that happens to exist would come back with a confidently wrong rate on a quote a buyer reads as final. Anrok reports a rate per jurisdiction rather than one blended figure, so the comparable single number stored on the line is their sum.

Quotes are priced through Anrok's ephemeral endpoint, which records nothing. Your returns and nexus monitoring see invoices, not the quotes that never closed.
Product IDs, Never Guesses
Anrok decides taxability from a product external ID in your own account. A missing one produces an explicit "no tax provider" state naming what to configure, rather than a fabricated rate.
Jurisdiction Rates, Summed Honestly
State, county and city rates come back separately. The figure stored on the line is their sum, so the single percentage a buyer sees is the one that actually applies.
Per-Tenant API Key

Not yet selectable
Settings → Tax currently offers Manual, Avalara and TaxJar only. Anrok credentials are accepted and stored by the backend, but until that screen is driven by the API you cannot make Anrok your active provider. This page describes what the connector does the moment you can.
Store your key and default product ID
Your Anrok API key goes in Settings → Tax, along with a default product external ID for lines that do not carry one of their own.
Quote as normal
Each taxable line is priced against its product ID as the quote is built, and recalculated when lines or addresses change.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Anrok
Can I select Anrok in TackQuote today?
Not yet. The backend accepts and persists your Anrok key and the ephemeral calculation path is live and tested, but the Settings → Tax provider list is still hardcoded to Manual, Avalara and TaxJar. The remaining work is that screen, not the connector.
Will quoting show up in my Anrok filings or nexus thresholds?
No. TackQuote only uses ephemeral transactions, which Anrok does not use for returns or economic-nexus monitoring. Filing and remittance stay in Anrok, driven by your invoices rather than your quotes.
What happens if a line has no Anrok product ID?
The quote is explicitly marked as having no tax provider, and the reason names exactly what is missing — a default product ID in settings, or a tax code on the line. No rate is invented to fill the gap, because a guessed product ID would return a rate that looks completely legitimate and is wrong.
