Dynamics 365 Business Central Integration
The B2B quoting layer for Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Integration Overview
How TackQuote connects with Dynamics 365 Business Central
Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.
TackQuote integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central through its OData/REST APIs so quotes are built from live item records and accepted quotes are written back as Business Central sales orders. Item and price data refresh on a two-hour scheduled pull plus an on-demand refresh, each item carrying its own stock level since Business Central publishes no separate inventory feed. Sales orders are pushed as soon as a quote is accepted; customer records are not pushed at all — TackQuote books against a Business Central customer you have already mapped, or the default you set on the connection. Order writes are gated on an active Order Sync Rule targeting this connection — connecting alone does not enable them.

Capabilities
What's included in the Dynamics 365 Business Central connector
Built out-of-the-box for enterprise sales teams, distributors, and manufacturers.
Item & Price Sync
TackQuote pulls Business Central items, unit prices, and units of measure into the quote builder on a scheduled cadence.
Sales Order Creation
Accepted quotes create Business Central sales orders with items, quantities, customer, and location mapped across. Order creation is not automatic on acceptance: it runs when an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection, or when the buyer checks out against it after you switch on Integrations → Use for checkout.
Buyer → Customer Mapping
When an order is created, TackQuote resolves the buyer to a Business Central customer — an explicit mapping first, then a lookup of the buyer’s email against your customer list, then your configured default. It does not create customer cards.
Item Availability Awareness
Each item arrives carrying its own on-hand figure, so reps quote against what Business Central last reported. There is no separate inventory pull — Business Central publishes no such feed — so that figure refreshes only when items do.
Setup Guide
4 steps to connect Dynamics 365 Business Central
TackQuote connects to Business Central via OAuth against the Microsoft identity platform. Items refresh every two hours; sales orders are pushed only when an accepted quote matches an active Order Sync Rule. Each item carries its own on-hand figure and Business Central publishes no separate inventory feed, so that figure is never fresher than the last item pull.
Register an Azure AD app
Register an app in Azure Active Directory with permissions to the Business Central API and grant admin consent for your tenant.
Connect in TackQuote
Authorize via OAuth in TackQuote Integrations → Business Central and select your environment and company. TackQuote begins the item sync.
Map items and order defaults
Confirm price and location mapping and set the sales order defaults used when quotes are accepted.
Go live
Build quotes from live Business Central items. Accepted quotes create sales orders and matched customers once an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection — connecting alone does not enable it.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Dynamics 365 Business Central
Does this support on-premises Business Central?
Yes, provided the Business Central API is exposed and reachable. Cloud environments connect via OAuth against the Microsoft identity platform.
What do I need to connect TackQuote to Business Central?
An Azure AD app registration with Business Central API permissions and tenant admin consent, plus TackQuote Pro plan or above.
How current is the item and stock data in quotes?
Items refresh on a two-hour scheduled pull plus an on-demand refresh from the quote builder. Sales orders and customer records push to Business Central only when an accepted quote matches an active Order Sync Rule. Each item carries its own on-hand figure and Business Central publishes no separate inventory feed, so that figure is never fresher than the last item pull.
Does the buyer need an existing Business Central customer?
Yes. Business Central will not accept a sales order without a customer, so TackQuote needs the buyer mapped to a Business Central customer number before the order can be pushed. If a line fails to post, TackQuote tells you which lines are missing rather than reporting the order as complete.
How many orders does the inbound sync bring in?
Inbound sync pulls the 50 most recent sales orders on each run. When there are more waiting, the run is flagged as partial in the sync log instead of being reported as a full sync.
