Integration Overview

How TackQuote connects with SAP Business One

Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.

TackQuote connects to SAP Business One through its Service Layer (OData) API so quotes are built from live item master data and accepted quotes are written back as SAP sales orders. TackQuote maps SAP items to quotable products and SAP business partners to buyer records. Prices come from a B1 price list that you nominate during setup — never from the item cost — and item and business-partner data refresh on a two-hour scheduled pull plus an on-demand refresh, with sales orders created when an accepted quote matches an active Order Sync Rule.

Bi-Directional Sync

Data objects synchronized between systems

Here is exactly how data flows between TackQuote and SAP Business One to maintain complete system alignment.

Master Price Book Sync

Sync contract pricing matrices, volume discount tiers, and customer-specific price books from SAP Business One.

Sales Order & Invoice Post

Post accepted quotes directly as sales orders or accounts receivable invoices into SAP Business One GL accounts.

Net Terms & Credit Limit Check

Validate buyer credit balances and payment terms in SAP Business One before enabling Net-30 quote checkout.

Tax Code & AR Ledger Mapping

Align tax jurisdiction codes and line-item revenue accounts across SAP Business One and TackQuote.

Capabilities

What's included in the SAP Business One connector

Built out-of-the-box for enterprise sales teams, distributors, and manufacturers.

Item Master Sync

TackQuote pulls SAP B1 item master data — item codes, names and the price from the B1 price list you nominate — into the quote builder on a scheduled cadence.

Sales Order Creation

Accepted quotes create SAP Business One sales orders with correct items, quantities, and business partner mapping. Order creation is not automatic on acceptance: it runs when an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection, or when the buyer checks out against it after you switch on Integrations → Use for checkout.

Business Partner Sync

TackQuote matches buyers to SAP business partners (cCustomer) and can create new partner records when none exist.

Price List Driven

You choose which B1 price list TackQuote quotes from. Items missing from that list sync at zero and are named in the sync log, so nothing is ever published at the item cost by accident.

Setup Guide

4 steps to connect SAP Business One

TackQuote connects to the SAP Business One Service Layer using session authentication. Items and business partners refresh every two hours; sales orders are pushed only when an accepted quote matches an active Order Sync Rule.

1

Enable the Service Layer

Ensure the SAP B1 Service Layer is exposed over HTTPS and create a dedicated service user with item, business partner, and sales order permissions.

2

Connect in TackQuote

Enter your Service Layer URL, company database, and service credentials in TackQuote Integrations → SAP Business One. TackQuote verifies the session and begins the item sync.

3

Choose your price list

Open Connections → SAP Business One → Price list. TackQuote reads the price lists straight out of your own SAP company and shows them as a picker — number, name, and whether the list is gross-priced or inactive — so pick the one you sell from and save. If TackQuote cannot reach your server, the same card accepts the number by hand: it is the “No.” column of Inventory → Price Lists in SAP Business One, where the stock “Base Price” list is normally 1. Item sync stays paused until a list is chosen: TackQuote will not fall back to the item cost.

4

Go live

Build quotes from live SAP item data. Accepted quotes create SAP sales orders and matched business partners once an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection — connecting alone does not enable it.

Requirements

What you need to get started

Prerequisites for authenticating SAP Business One with your TackQuote tenant.

  • SAP Business One with the Service Layer (OData) enabled over HTTPS
  • Dedicated service user with item, business partner, and document permissions
  • Network access from TackQuote to your Service Layer endpoint
  • A nominated B1 price list to quote from — item sync cannot run without one. TackQuote discovers the lists in your company and offers them as a picker, so there is nothing to look up in advance
  • TackQuote Pro plan or above (SAP is an enterprise integration)

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about SAP Business One

Where do the prices in my catalog come from?

From the SAP B1 price list you nominate on the connection. Earlier versions of this connector read AvgStdPrice, which SAP documents as the item cost, so catalogs were priced at cost with no margin. That fallback is gone: item sync now refuses to run until a price list number is set, and an item that carries no price on that list syncs at zero and is named in the sync log rather than being silently priced at cost.

Which SAP product does this support?

This integration targets SAP Business One via its Service Layer. Support for SAP S/4HANA is evaluated separately for enterprise engagements.

Does the Service Layer need to be internet-reachable?

TackQuote needs network access to the Service Layer endpoint. Many customers expose it through a reverse proxy or VPN/allowlist rather than the open internet.

What happens if a buyer has no SAP business partner yet?

TackQuote looks the buyer up by email address and creates a business partner when there is no match, then puts that CardCode on the sales order. The generated CardCode is a stable 15-character key derived from the buyer email, so the same buyer always maps to the same business partner.

How do I find my price list, and what if I pick the wrong one?

You should not have to go looking. Open Connections → SAP Business One → Price list and TackQuote reads the price lists out of your own SAP company, showing each one by number and name, plus a note when a list is gross-priced (tax-inclusive) or inactive in SAP. Choose one and save. If TackQuote cannot reach your Service Layer — the server is unreachable, or your service user has no price-list permission — the same card falls back to a plain number box so setup is never blocked; the number is the “No.” column of Inventory → Price Lists in SAP Business One. Changing the list later is safe: it simply re-prices the SAP-sourced catalog on the next item sync.

My SAP item sync suddenly stopped. Why?

Because no price list has been chosen yet. Earlier versions of this connector priced catalogs from AvgStdPrice, which SAP documents as the item cost, so quotes went out at zero margin without anything to signal it. Rather than keep doing that, item sync now stops and tells you what to set. Choose your price list at Connections → SAP Business One → Price list and sync resumes. Business partner sync and sales-order push are unaffected and keep running throughout — and expect your catalog prices to move when the first sync lands, from the item cost to your real sell price.
