How TackQuote connects with Google Sheets
Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.
TackQuote connects to Google Sheets over OAuth 2.0 and writes into a spreadsheet you nominate — either one you already keep, or a new one TackQuote creates in your own Drive. Each export writes a header row and one row per record into its own tab, clearing the tab first so a re-run replaces the previous export instead of stacking a second copy underneath it. Rows are written in batches rather than one call per row, which is what keeps a ten-thousand-row export inside Google’s per-minute request quota. Everything is written as raw text, so a product name or a buyer note that begins with “=” lands in the cell as text and is never evaluated as a spreadsheet formula. Going the other way, TackQuote can read a price list you maintain in a sheet and update matching catalog products by SKU — as a dry run first, which reports exactly which products would change and by how much before anything is written.

4 steps to connect Google Sheets
Authorize Google Sheets, choose or create the destination spreadsheet, then run exports on demand — and optionally import a price list back.
Authorize with Google
In TackQuote Connections, choose Google Sheets and authorize access. TackQuote asks for the Sheets permission only — it cannot see any other file in your Drive. Leave the permission ticked; if you untick it, TackQuote refuses the connection instead of saving one that cannot work.
Choose the destination spreadsheet
Paste the URL of a spreadsheet you already have, or let TackQuote create a new one in your Drive. TackQuote opens it first to confirm your Google account can actually reach it, and only then saves the connection. Until a spreadsheet is chosen, the connection is deliberately not reported as connected.
Run an export
Export quotes, orders or the catalog whenever you need them. Each goes to its own tab, which TackQuote creates if it is missing. Exports are capped at 10,000 rows per run and tell you when that cap was reached, rather than quietly writing a partial sheet.
Import a price list (optional)
Give TackQuote the range holding your SKUs and prices. It runs as a dry run by default and reports what would change; when you are satisfied, run it for real to update the prices of matching catalog products.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Google Sheets
Can TackQuote see the rest of my Google Drive?
No. TackQuote requests the Google Sheets permission only, which is limited to spreadsheets — it cannot open documents, PDFs, images or anything else in your Drive. Within spreadsheets it can only act on the one you nominate.
Do exports run automatically on a schedule?
Not today. Every export is run on demand. There is no scheduled or event-triggered export, and the connector does not push a quote to your sheet when it is accepted.
What happens if I run the same export twice?
The tab is cleared and rewritten, so you get one current copy rather than two stacked ones. Cell formatting, column widths and data validation on that tab are preserved — only the values are replaced.
How many rows can one export hold?
Up to 10,000 rows per run. If your data exceeds that, the export writes the most recent 10,000 and tells you it was capped — it never writes a short sheet without saying so. Narrow the export with a date or status filter to stay under the cap.
Can the price-list import create new products?
No, and that is deliberate. It only updates the price of products already in your catalog, matched exactly on SKU. SKUs it cannot find are listed back to you rather than being created — a typo in a spreadsheet should not become a catalog entry.
What if a price cell is not a number?
That row is reported as invalid and skipped. TackQuote will not turn "call for pricing" or a blank cell into a zero. Run the dry run first and the report tells you exactly which rows need fixing.
Does disconnecting revoke TackQuote’s access to my Google account?
Disconnecting deactivates the connection in TackQuote. It does not revoke the Google grant, because revocation applies to your whole Google account and would break any other TackQuote workspace you connected with the same account. To revoke fully, remove TackQuote at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
