Integration Overview

How TackQuote connects with Xentral

Eliminate manual data entry, prevent shipping or pricing errors, and streamline B2B order execution.

TackQuote connects to Xentral through its REST API so quotes are built from live product records and accepted quotes become Xentral sales orders. Xentral returns SKU, name, price and stock in a single response, so catalog sync is efficient — which matters because Xentral rate-limits API access account-wide. TackQuote therefore refreshes incrementally using each product's last-updated timestamp rather than re-reading the whole catalog. Accepted quotes are imported as released orders with an explicit price per line, so the amount your buyer agreed is the amount Xentral records. Order writes are gated on an active Order Sync Rule targeting this connection — connecting alone does not enable them.

Bi-Directional Sync

Data objects synchronized between systems

Here is exactly how data flows between TackQuote and Xentral to maintain complete system alignment.

Master Price Book Sync

Sync contract pricing matrices, volume discount tiers, and customer-specific price books from Xentral.

Sales Order & Invoice Post

Post accepted quotes directly as sales orders or accounts receivable invoices into Xentral GL accounts.

Net Terms & Credit Limit Check

Validate buyer credit balances and payment terms in Xentral before enabling Net-30 quote checkout.

Tax Code & AR Ledger Mapping

Align tax jurisdiction codes and line-item revenue accounts across Xentral and TackQuote.

Capabilities

What's included in the Xentral connector

Built out-of-the-box for enterprise sales teams, distributors, and manufacturers.

Single-Call Product Sync

Xentral returns SKU, name, price and stock together, so TackQuote refreshes your catalog in far fewer requests than a multi-resource ERP needs.

Incremental Refresh

Syncs are scoped by last-updated timestamp, which keeps catalog refreshes well inside Xentral’s account-wide API rate limit.

Released Sales Orders

Accepted quotes are imported as released Xentral orders with a document number, not drafts waiting for someone to notice them. Order creation is not automatic on acceptance: it runs when an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection, or when the buyer checks out against it after you switch on Integrations → Use for checkout.

Explicit Line Pricing

Every pushed line carries its agreed price, so Xentral never substitutes a product master price for the figure your buyer accepted.

Setup Guide

4 steps to connect Xentral

TackQuote connects to Xentral with your instance subdomain and a Personal Access Token. Catalog refreshes incrementally; orders are pushed only when an accepted quote matches an active Order Sync Rule.

1

Create a Personal Access Token

In Xentral, go to Administration → Account settings → Developer Settings → Personal Access Tokens and create one. Admin rights are required and the value is shown only once.

2

Note your project id

Xentral sales orders are created against a project. Find the project id you want orders filed under — catalog sync works without it, but order push needs it.

3

Connect in TackQuote

Enter your Xentral subdomain, the token and the project id in TackQuote Integrations → Xentral. Optionally set default payment and shipping method ids.

4

Go live

Quote from live Xentral products. Accepted quotes are imported as released sales orders. This runs once an active Order Sync Rule targets this connection; connecting alone does not enable it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Xentral

How does TackQuote handle Xentral’s API rate limit?

Xentral limits API access account-wide regardless of plan, so TackQuote reads a large page at a time and scopes routine refreshes to products changed since the last sync. A full resync is available but is the expensive path, and syncs stop cleanly and resume next run rather than exhausting your request budget.

Can an order pushed to Xentral be deleted if something is wrong?

No — and that is deliberate. TackQuote uses Xentral’s import path, which creates a released order with a document number immediately, because an accepted quote is a confirmed commitment. Released orders are cancelled rather than deleted. The alternative would leave orders sitting as drafts until someone released them manually.

How secure is a Xentral Personal Access Token?

Xentral’s own documentation notes that PATs carry unlimited permissions and no expiry, and there is no scoping mechanism today. Treat the value as a full admin credential, store it only in TackQuote, and delete it in Xentral to revoke access.
